Say hello to a brand new English episode of Yankee in Japan. A few more episodes till the season finishes.
This time, I follow up my last Japanese episode, "What is Christianity?" with an episode on how Christianity is viewed, and often misconstrued, in the Land of the Rising Sun. Especially good for missionaries looking to evangelize in Japan!
Japanese word of the day
やばい Yabai (adjective)
Meaning - used for exclamation or emphasis of something really great or terrible.
すごい sugoi (adjective)
Meaning - used to express surprise or "wowness" at something. Can sometimes be simply translated as "wow" or "that's something."
めんどくさい mendokusai (adjective)
Meaning - in general, "annoying" "a hassle" "a pain."
(I’m not too familiar with the current affairs of hidden Christians today. Added just for information purposes)
(good video about views on religion in Japan. HOWEVER only young people are interviewed and most Japanese young people aren’t knowledgeable about Shinto and Buddhism. Take it with a grain of salt!)

(homepage of the church I attend. Messages are in Japanese, but if you’re confident in your skills, by all means, come by! I can share my English notes with you)
